Sometimes art-making is very deliberate, with deep consideration and conceptualization preceding the eventual construction of the work. Other times, weird ideas pop into your head out of nowhere, like being visited by a Greek muse, and you think, “But is this art? Would this fit in my ouvre? Is it any good? Would people want to see this?, etc.” Often the answer is, “No,” and those ideas disappear back wherever they came from. But other times the answer is, “Fuck it,” and you just dig in and have fun making something random. You never know where the idea will take you.
